Community Conversations
We host monthly Community Conversations where migrants and supporters working in sustainability throughout Atlanta, North America, and the world, can connect and collaborate with each other. These meetings are also meant to encourage collaboration within and beyond the collaborative to facilitate initiatives that further amplify the priorities of Migrants in Sustainability. We use feedback from these meetings to inform our Advocacy and Education platform.
Advocacy and Education
We are working on creating an Advocacy and Education platform that will highlight and uplift our community priorities for achieving tangible improvements for our communities through organizations, programs, and policies. It will include digital content, webinars, presentations, and policy recommendations and reports. The Collaborative is connecting with and presenting at organizations, initiatives, and coalitions focused on sustainability and migrants. Please reach out if you would like us to present.
Research
We advance community-driven and participatory research to uplift the priorities, knowledges, and solutions of Migrants in Sustainability. We are working to identify how they can be amplified to improve our social and environmental connections from the local to the international levels, especially since migration is an adaptation pathway and migrants have long been ecological stewards and innovators. This research will be used to build a community-centered Advocacy and Education platform. We work with researchers and communities to advance this work and ensure it is grounded in community perspectives and innovative science.
Leadership
We are cultivating our Collaborative to advance connections, collaboration, and innovation between new and potential partners from Atlanta to the global level. The Leadership team facilitates the coordination of the Community Conversations, planning of future initiatives such as a mentorship program, and development of educational, communications, and advocacy programming and resources. We are led by members from throughout the country and world.
